Mostly gains spotted in aromatics prices

The May benzene contract on the US Gulf was among the notable gainers for the week, tacking on 14 cts/gal. Even as those agreements were being made, spot benzene was sliding 30 cts/gal, putting it well below the new contract level. Spot mixed xylenes were said to be higher by 20 cts/gal, despite recent weakness in isomers. In Europe, the benzene contract strength was continued, with the settlement higher by €64/m.t.
