Losses on U.S. Gulf Coast benzene were about 11% or 35 cts/gal. Other aromatics were reported lower, but by lesser degrees. Spot toluene in Europe was off by $30/m.t. while styrene declined $80/m.t. Sellers tried to stem the tide by raising offers for mixed xylenes by $50/m.t. but bids were unchanged. Trading was even more quiet on the Gulf Coast.
