In aromatics, benchmark benzene on the US Gulf was settled down sharply 35 cts/gal for August. Spot benzene and mixed xylenes both gained 10 cts/gal. Spot toluene edged higher by 5 cts/gal. July styrene settled higher by 3 cts/lb, with demand said to be rising from Asia as several major producers are starting maintenance turns. In Europe, the pattern was similar with August benzene settled lower by €32/m.t. while styrene was agreed higher by €47/m.t.
