![]() Benzene Gains Ground in U.S. Market1:05 PM MDT | October 13, 2010 | Lindsey Bewley Quiescence in benzene markets on both sides of the Atlantic did not extend into other aromatics. Benzene on the U.S. Gulf gained rose 5 cts/gal, while prices were flat in Europe. But toluene gained 15 cts/gal in North America and $50/m.t. in Europe, traders say. Mixed xylenes were even more aggressive, rising 20 cts/gal in the U.S. and $70/m.t. in Europe. The two markets parted ways in styrene, however, with prices said to be level on the U.S. Gulf Coast while European prices converged at the upper end of the trading range with bids rising $35/m.t. against offers...
