Aromatics spot prices mixed

Spot benzene was higher on both sides of the Atlantic because of rising crude, but smaller volume aromatics could not keep up. On the US Gulf benzene ticked higher 10 cts/gal, but both toluene and mixed xylenes dropped a dime. Spot styrene is said to have slipped 2 cts/lb. The last current contract was settled with mixed xylenes being agreed lower by 11 cts/gal. In Europe, spot benzene had a bigger bump, rising $40/m.t. while toluene, mixed xylenes, and styrene all slipped by the same amount, traders say.
