Aromatics prices vary

Aromatics continued to show mixed results with spot benzene sellers taking offers higher by 25 cts/gal on the US Gulf Coast. Buyers were only willing to raise bids by 15 cts/gal, so the trading range widened. Toluene was said to be lower by 5 cts/gal while mixed xylenes were higher by 10 cts/gal. The April mixed xylenes contract was reported settled lower by a hefty 57 cts/gal. In Europe, the pattern was similar, with benzene higher, but it was traded in a narrower band, sources say. Bids were higher by $50/m.t. while offers were increased by $40/m.t. Toluene...
