Aromatics prices vary

Aromatics were lower in North America and mixed in Europe, traders say. Spot benzene on the US Gulf Coast was reported lower by 10 cts/gal, while mixed xylenes tumbled 30 cts/gal and styrene skidded 6 cts/lb. In Europe, benzene and styrene were the loss leaders, down $40/m.t. while mixed xylenes held to a decline of $30/m.t., players say.
