Aromatics prices quiet on US holiday

Spot aromatics on the US Gulf Coast were reported dead quiet in the week between the US Memorial Day holiday and June contract talks. In Europe, there was a rare divergence of spot benzene prices declining $40/m.t., while spot styrene moved higher $30/m.t. Methanex rolled its May posting price for North America into June, but spot methanol prices slipped 7 cts/gal. In Europe, methanol also dipped—€30/m.t.
