Aromatics prices mostly drop

Aromatics were generally softer on both sides of the Atlantic this week. Spot mixed xylenes on the US Gulf Coast gained 10 cts/gal, traders say, while benzene dropped a dime. Business was reported to be thin with most of the country swept by severe winter storms. In Europe, spot benzene was also lower by $35/m.t., while spot styrene stumbled $70.m.t.
