Aromatics prices mixed

In aromatics, spot benzene on the US Gulf slumped 30 cts/gal, traders say, but toluene was able to hold level, and mixed xylenes even squeezed out a gain of 15 cts/gal. Styrene followed benzene lower, by 3 cts/lb, players say. In Europe, the volatility was even higher, market watchers report. Spot benzene was indicated lower by $90/m.t. while toluene tumbled $60/m.t. Styrene crumpled $160/m.t., falling fast from a recent spike, traders report.
