Aromatics prices lower

In contrast to the revival in olefins, aromatics were uniformly lower on both sides of the Atlantic. Benzene was notably flat in both regions, but both spot toluene and mixed xylenes were traded down by 10 cts/gal on the US Gulf Coast, players say. Styrene was talked lower by 2 cts/lb. In northwest Europe, spot toluene opened a wider trading band as buyers took bids lower by $20/m.t. while sellers would only discount offers by $10/m.t.
