![]() Aromatics Rise on Both Sides of the Atlantic12:26 PM MST | January 20, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics markets were stronger on both sides of the Atlantic. Spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf saw buyers raise bids by 15 cts/gal as sellers hiked offers by a dime. Spot toluene was said to be higher by an even 5 cts/gal, while styrene moved up 4 cts/lb. In Europe the pattern was similar with benzene booming $120/m.t. as toluene and sytrene gained $30/m.t. Spot methanol eased back slightly with North American prices lower by 2 cts/gal and European levels lower by €5/m.t. The first-quarter contract price in Europe was agreed higher...
