Aromatics Prices on the Decline

Aromatics contracts were reported settled early in the week, with June benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast declining 11 cts/gal. That is still well above prevailing spot prices, which were unchanged, players say. Spot toluene was off 20 cts/gal, while mixed xylenes slipped below toluene with a loss of 30 cts/gal, traders report. The May contract for mixed xylenes tumbled 34 cts/gal.
