![]() Aromatics Prices Uneven on Both Sides of the Atlantic8:56 AM MDT | March 29, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics were reported to be uneven in advance of contract settlements on either side of the Atlantic. Mixed xylenes, the recent star performer on the U.S. Gulf Coast, was said to be lower by 25 cts/gal, while spot benzene dropped a dime. Toluene gained 10 cts/gal. The story was different in Europe, with suppliers raising benzene offers $10/m.t. while buyers bid up the bottom of the range $20/m.t. In contrast, the range widened for toluene, with sellers hiking offers $40/m.t. against bids higher by only $30/m.t. Spot styrene was a downer, falling a flat $50/m.t...
