Aromatics Prices Uneven in U.S. and Europe

Aromatics were also uneven, but at a lesser amplitude than olefins, players say. Buyers lowered bids for spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast by 5 cts/gal, but sellers were not moved to reduce their offers. Mixed xylenes were higher by 10 cts/gal on the strength of isomer demand, while spot styrene shed a penny per pound. Benzene in Europe gained a more uniform $10/m.t. while mixed xylenes rose $20/m.t.
