Buyers lowered bids for spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast by 5 cts/gal, but sellers were not moved to reduce their offers. Mixed xylenes were higher by 10 cts/gal on the strength of isomer demand, while spot styrene shed a penny per pound. Benzene in Europe gained a more uniform $10/m.t. while mixed xylenes rose $20/m.t. Styrene was the loss leader for the week, off $40/m.t. traders say. Southern Chemical said it would roll its November reference price for methanol into December...
