![]() Aromatics Prices Slide Downward10:17 AM MDT | May 18, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley In aromatics bellwether spot benzene skidded 30 cts/gal on the U.S. Gulf Coast, with toluene close behind with a decline of 25 cts/gal. Mixed xylenes were the notable exception, with a gain of 5 cts/gal. Spot styrene, one of the stronger markets lately, slipped 3 cts/lb. There was a similar story in Europe, where spot benzene declined $40/m.t., traders report. Spot toluene held to half that decrease, but spot styrene plunged $100/m.t.
