![]() Aromatics Prices Rise in Both U.S. and Europe8:37 AM MST | January 4, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Aromatics markets were reported to be lively in the first week of 2012. Benchmark benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast led the way, with producers achieving an increase of 70 cts/gal for the January contract. Spot material tacked on 10 cts/gal. There was less consensus in mixed xylenes trading, with sellers raising offers by 15 cts/gal, but buyers only willing to increase bids by 5 cts/gal. Both spot and contract styrene were said to add 2 cts/lb. In Europe, benzene also nailed down a big contract increase for January, up €189/m.t. with styrene for January agreed...
