September benzene on the U.S. Gulf was settled lower by 40 cts/gal, traders report. Spot toluene moved higher by 15 cts/gal, while spot mixed xylenes bounced up 40 cts/gal on strong derivative demand. In Europe, the September benzene contract was also lower: down €35 ($44.80)/m.t., players say. September styrene was higher, agreed up €43/m.t., because of higher ethylene prices.
