Aromatics Prices Mixed on Both Sides of the Atlantic

Benchmark benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast sagged 37 cts/gal, which brought contracts level with current spot prices. Spot toluene was a notable gainer for the week, with bids higher by 20 cts/gal as offers were increased by 15 cts/gal, players say. The June contract for mixed xylenes had been agreed at a substantial decrease of 55 cts/gal, and sources report that a further 2 cts/gal were likely to come off for the July settlement.
