Benzene was higher on the U.S. Gulf Coast by a substantial 15 cts/gal, and also in northwest Europe by $40/m.t. Styrene also rose, but to a lesser degree, players say. It was up $20/m.t. in Europe and just a penny a pound in North America. Toluene took a tumble in Europe, off $25/m.t. while mixed xylenes were lower by just 5 cts/gal on the Gulf Coast.
