Aromatics Prices Climb on Both Sides of Atlantic

Spot aromatics markets were higher on both sides of the Atlantic. On the U.S. Gulf Coast, benzene was reported higher by 10 cts/gal while toluene and mixed xylenes moved up by 5 cts/gal each. Meanwhile, strong polymer markets pulled styrene higher by 3 cts/lb. In Europe, benzene was the top gainer for the week, spiking $110/m.t. sellers say. Toluene and mixed xylenes were reported to be higher by $20/m.t. while styrene rose $80/m.t. Methanol markets were said to be quiet, with producers in North America rolling the December reference prices into January...
