On either side of the Atlantic bellwether benzene took the brunt of the decline, down an average of 17 cts/gal on the U.S. Gulf Coast in a widening trading range and down an average of $32/m.t. in Europe albeit within a narrowing band. Smaller-volume aromatics were less changed. Producers reduced offers for European spot toluene by $5/m.t. Mixed xylenes were said to be traded lower by 10 cts/gal in the U.S. and $10/m.t. in Europe.
