Benzene on the U.S. Gulf was lower by 15 cts/gal, while toluene dropped a dime and mixed xylenes were down by 20 cts/gal. Styrene decreased by 2 cts/lb. In Europe the results were the same, with benzene reported to be lower by $30/m.t., toluene was down by $20/m.t. and mixed xylenes were off by $40/m.t. The loss leader for the week was spot styrene, which was said to be down by $45/m.t. The sole gainer for the week was spot methanol, due to production problems in the Caribbean. It rose...
