![]() Aromatics Contracts Settle Mostly Higher9:55 AM MDT | May 3, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Benzene contracts were agreed higher for May on both sides of the Atlantic, but spot aromatics did not get much of a lift from those. On the U.S. Gulf Coast, May benzene was settled higher by 9 cts/gal, but in response the spot price was reported to have fallen 5 cts/gal, to roughly level with contract material. Spot toluene was reported to have picked up the nickel that benzene dropped. Mixed xylenes were reported lower by 10 cts/gal, but styrene added 2 cts/lb.
