Spot benzene and mixed xylenes on the U.S. Gulf Coast saw producer raise offers by 10 cts/gal while buyers were only willing to increase their bids by half that much. Toluene was said to get a flat nickel increase. The picture was inverted in Europe, with benzene reported lower by an even $5/m.t. while toluene saw an unusual divergence: buyers reduced bids by $10/m.t. while producers raised offers by the same amount.
