Aromatics Activity Busy at End of 2010

Aromatics markets were hopping at the end of the year. The January benzene contract in Europe was settled sharply higher with an increase of €149/m.t., a rise of more than 20%. Spot prices for all aromatics were higher by $20-25/m.t. North American producers responded quickly to developments across the Atlantic, nominating an increase of 72 cts/gal, or 22%, for the January contract price.
