Most aromatics prices drop

In aromatics, benzene was settled for October on the US Gulf Coast higher by 42 cts/gal, bringing it comparable to prevailing spot levels. Spot benzene dropped a dime, while toluene slumped 30 cts/gal. In Europe benzene also dropped, shedding €51/m.t. while styrene was agreed for October lower by a hefty €92/m.t. Spot markets were called thin, with toluene slipping $15/m.t. while styrene was off $10/m.t.
