Aromatics prices quiet as settlements being discussed

The story in aromatics was similar to petrochemicals this week. July benzene on the US Gulf tumbled 35 cts/gal while the late-month contract for mixed xylenes was done down by 22 cts/gal. In spot business benzene dropped a dime, while spot mixed xylenes bucked the trend by gaining 5 cts/gal. European benzene contracts for July were agreed lower by €67/m.t. but July styrene held the settlement decrease to a mere €4/m.t. In spot business, toluene pushed to a gain of $10/m.t., players indicate, while mixed xylenes slipped $20/m.t. and styrene declined...
