Aromatics prices mostly up

Aromatics were firmer on both sides of the Atlantic. Spot benzene and mixed xylenes on the US Gulf Coast gained 10 cts/gal, traders report. Activity was even more brisk in northwest Europe, with benzene higher by $25/m.t., mixed xylenes up $30/m.t., and toluene gaining $10–20/m.t. in a wider trading band. Styrene rose $85/m.t. to a new recent high as a result of capacity out of production.
