April aromatics contracts settled lower

Even as April aromatics contracts were settled lower on both sides of the Atlantic, spot prices for benchmark benzene ticked higher in Europe. April benzene on the US Gulf was done down 33 cts/gal, while late-month styrene was settled lower by 4 cts for March. Spot benzene was said to be down 5 cts/gal, while spot toluene was sharply lower in a narrowing range, with bids lower by 20 cts/gal and offers reduced by 30 cts/gal.
