The February contract for mixed xylenes was agreed lower by 20 cts/gal, which prompted the trading range for spot material to tighten. Buyers raised bids 5 cts/gal, while sellers brought offers down the same amount for a net wash. In Europe, aromatics were reported softening, with both spot benzene and styrene down $20/m.t. Spot toluene was lower by $10/m.t. The only gainer for the week in Europe was methyl tert-butyl ether, which moved higher by $35/m.t. in advance of expected firming in...
