Modest gains reported in aromatics

Modest gains have been reported for aromatics on the US Gulf with the exception of spot benzene, which shed 5 cts/gal. Toluene is said to be higher by 15 cts/gal, while mixed xylenes gained a nickel. Buyers expected the February mixed xylenes contract to be agreed lower, but other market watchers said recent spot strength could support a roll.
