Mixed aromatics market as February contracts settled

The February contract for benzene on the US Gulf was settled at a decrease of 36 cts/gal, bringing contract numbers in line with prevailing spot business, traders say. The trading band for toluene was reported to be narrow, with bids creeping higher by 10 cts/gal. Mixed xylenes saw a clearer 10-ct/gal increase for both bids and offers, while styrene pushed through another 2-ct/lb rise, sources say.
