Mixed prices in aromatics

In aromatics, spot benzene on the US Gulf ticked higher by 5 cts/gal, but mixed xylenes were reported lower in a narrowing trading range as buyers reduced bids by 5 cts/gal and sellers chased them down by 15 cts/gal on offers. Styrene, responding to production outages, rose 3 cts/lb. In Europe, the only movers were benzene and styrene, traders report. Benzene spiked $30/m.t. while styrene soared $80/m.t.
