Aromatics prices mixed

Gains in aromatics were more checkered, players report. Spot benzene on the US Gulf rose 35 cts/gal, with toluene showing a more modest increase of 20 cts/gal. In northwest Europe, spot benzene was reported higher by $30/m.t. Toluene, however, slumped  $50/m.t. Styrene was said to be actively traded, and with more focus than last week. Buyers and sellers moved toward each other, with bids higher by $20/m.t. and offers lower by $10/m.t., for a net gain of $10/m.t. in a tighter trading band.
