Spot benzene on the U.S. Gulf Coast was unchanged for the second week in a row, but the bounced higher by $50/m.t. in Europe, reversing a loss the previous week. Tolulene and mixed xylenes were both said to be flat in Europe, but declined on the Gulf Coast. Sellers conceed toluene was off 10 cts/gal and MX lower by 15 cts/gal. The only similarity was in styrene, higher by 2 cts/lb on the Gulf Coast and $50/m.t. in Europe. Operational problems were reported at Shell’s plant in Moerdjk, the Netherlands and BASF...
