People & Business :: Responsible Care Bayer CropScience Plant Explosion Kills One7:10 AM MDT | August 29, 2008 | Kerri Walsh An explosion occurred at a Bayer CropScience plant at Institute, WV last night, killing one Bayer employee, Bayer says. Another employee has been transported from a local hospital to a regional burn center in Pittsburgh. Bayer says it currently does not have a cause for the accident, “and cannot speculate as to what happened.” Bayer says a chemical release occurred at the Institute site, which developed into a fire several minutes later.
