Senate Panel Examines EPA Chemical Policy; Boxer Advocates Changes Modeled on Reach

Socma told lawmakers at a Senate hearing last week that EPA’s existing rules and the industry’s voluntary initiatives are sufficient and “far more appropriate” than the European Union’s (EU) Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) law to control possible risks.
