Restriction proposed on BPA in thermal paper

France has submitted a proposal to restrict the marketing of thermal paper containing bisphenol A (BPA) under the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulations. The proposal is to restrict using BPA at a concentration equal to or greater than 0.02% by weight in thermal paper, a concentration limit that is equivalent a total ban of BPA in this application.
