The chemical industry must start complying with the European Union’s (EU) Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) legislation on June 1, when the pre-registration phase is due to begin. Companies producing chemicals in the EU or importing chemicals into the EU will have until December 1 to pre-register existing chemical substances.
