Reach Pre-registrations Top 1.6 Million with 3 Days to Go

The number of substances pre-registered by chemical firms for the European Union’s (EU) Registration, Authorisation and Evaluation of Chemicals (Reach) program has this week topped 1.6 million, says Stavros Dimas, European commissioner for the environment. As recently as the first week of October the number of pre-registrations had been 400,000. The pre-registration phase for Reach ends on Sunday November 30.
