People & Business :: Reach European Parliament Presses for Acceleration of SVHC Classification6:10 AM MDT | March 23, 2010 | Alex Scott The European Parliament’s (EP) environment committee is pressing the European Commission to accelerate the rate at which it is classifying chemicals as substances of very high concern (SVHC). The parliament’s move follows comments by a series of environmental groups about the lack of chemicals being added to the list of substances classified as SVHCs. To date, only 29 substances have been added to the list of chemicals identified as SVHCs. The chemicals placed on this list-known as the candidate list-must then go through further...
