European Commission Steps in to Strengthen Reach

The European Commission this morning announced a series of initiatives aimed at ensuring continued progress of the implementation of the European Union (EU’s) Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program. The key actions include increasing the number of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) being placed on the candidate list for Reach Authorisation, from 29 to 135 by 2012.
