EU Chemical Agency Faces Financial Crisis

Dancet: Firms finding ways to spend less. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki), the body responsible for implementing the European Union’s (EU) Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) law, could run out of money starting in 2011, says Geert Dancet, ECHA executive director. Dancet made the announcement to the European Parliament’s environment committee at a hearing last week.
