ECHA to assess expansion of Reach restriction on cadmium in plastic materials

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) says that, following a request from the European Commission, it is examining the case for expanding the restriction on cadmium in plastics—under the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) legislation—from 16 selected plastic materials currently, to all plastic materials.
