ECHA Fights to Hold onto its Budget

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki), the body responsible for managing the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach program), is fighting to hold onto its €30 million/year ($36.3 million) budget for 2010 in the face of cuts proposed by European Union (EU) member states.
