Zachert Leaves Lanxess to Join Merck KGaA's Board

Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany) has announced that Matthias Zachert has been appointed member of the executive board and general partner of Merck KGaA, effective summer 2011. Zachert is currently the CFO of Lanxess and the appointment is subject to approval by the supervisory board of Lanxess AG. Zachert will succeed Michael Becker, who will continue as a member of the executive board of E. Merck KG until he retires at the end of the year.
