Süd-Chemie Recognizes Developments in Next-Generation Lithium Batteries

Süd-Chemie will award John B. Goodenough, professor of mechanical engineering and materials science at the University of Texas (Austin), with its inaugural innovation prize, which takes the name of the professor. Goodenough, a solid-state physicist, is attributed with inventing lithium iron phosphate (LFP)-based materials, which are set to become the material of choice for next-generation electric vehicles, Süd-Chemie says.
