Solvay's Clamadieu to be next president of Cefic

CW has learned that Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, CEO of Solvay, will be elected as the next president of Cefic on 17 October at the Cefic General Assembly at Paris. Clamadieu will succeed Kurt Bock, chairman of BASF, for a two-year term. Clamadieu already serves as a v.p. of Cefic and member of the board of directors of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). The presidency of ICCA alternates between Europe and the United States, so the next president will come from a US company. Clamadieu, before the Solvay and Rhodia merger in 2011...
