Schulman says it will reduce capacity and jobs in Europe and North America as it copes with the “increasingly difficult and unprecedented global economic slowdown.” The company will permanently shut down an engineering plastics line at Bellevue, OH, and temporarily idle another at Nashville. These shutdowns will reduce total production capacity by 50% and result in the loss of 60 jobs, Schulman says.
